Every Region 15 dojo

Halloween Week

Two things are happening that week. Kids and Yoji students get a Halloween wristband every time they train — pick the design you want. And bring a friend to any class, at any age, and you earn something you can’t buy anywhere: Sensei Stitches, the Limited Edition Halloween Kooshie.

Sensei Stitches

The Franken-Sensei

Nobody quite knows who assembled him, only that he woke up in the dojo one stormy October night, bowed politely to the empty mat, and has trained every Halloween since. He is enormously proud of his stitches and will tell you the story behind each one, at length, if you let him.

Two Ways To Win

One is for turning up to a Kids or Yoji class. One is for bringing someone with you to any class, at any age. Both run at every Region 15 dojo, Mon 26 – Fri 30 October.

Kids & Yoji

Halloween Wristband

Train in a Kids or Yoji class during Halloween Week and you get a wristband — every single time. Train three times, collect three.

  • Pick your own design from the assorted Halloween styles, while stocks last.
  • Trade them with your mates. Got a double? Swap it at the dojo for one you haven’t got.
  • Nothing to fill in. No form, no sign-up — turn up, train, take one.
  • Visitors count too. Trying a class that week? You get one as well.
Any class, any age

Limited Edition Halloween Kooshie

Bring a friend to train with you during Halloween Week and Sensei Stitches is yours.

  • Every class, every age. Yoji, Juniors, teens, adults, family classes — if you bring a friend, you earn one.
  • One friend, one Stitches. Bring another new friend and you earn another.
  • Your friend trains free. Comfy clothes, no gi, nothing to pay.
  • Never sold, never random. Unlike the usual four Kooshies, Stitches isn’t a mystery draw — bring a friend and he’s the one you get.
  • Halloween Week only. When the week is over, so is Sensei Stitches.

Every class you train = a Halloween wristband Bring a friend = Sensei Stitches

Bringing a friend

Three Steps To Stitches

1 Bring a friend Anyone who isn’t already a GKR member — school mates, cousins, neighbours, even mum or dad.
2 They fill in the form The quick form below before class, or the paper one at the dojo. Two minutes, done.
3 You earn Sensei Stitches Train together during Halloween Week and Stitches is yours — the reward goes to you, not your friend. He isn’t handed out on the day; your instructor will let you know when yours is ready to collect.
Two minutes, tops

Register Your Friend

Fill this in together before class — it counts as your friend’s temporary registration, so they walk straight onto the mat. Works at every Region 15 dojo on the Coast.

The fine print

Halloween wristbands

  • Kids and Yoji classes. A wristband for every Kids or Yoji class a student trains in during Halloween Week, at every Region 15 dojo.
  • Choose your design, while stocks last. The designs are assorted and we can’t hold a particular one for you.
  • One per class. Train again, get another. Trading between students is very much encouraged; asking for extras in the same class is not.
  • Nothing to register. No form and no sign-up — just be in class that week.

Earning Sensei Stitches

  • A different friend each time. Each new friend you bring during Halloween Week earns you one Sensei Stitches.
  • Stitches is yours, not your friend’s. Your friend trains free — the collectable is your reward for bringing them.
  • Not handed out on the day. Your instructor will let you know when yours is ready to collect.
  • Your friend can’t be an active GKR member. The program is for bringing someone new to the dojo.
  • Every class, every age. The wristbands are a Kids and Yoji thing; Sensei Stitches is not. Bring a friend to any class on the timetable — Yoji, Juniors, teens, adults or family — and you earn one.
  • Register before class. Use the form on this page, or the paper form at the dojo.
  • Halloween Week only. Mon 26 – Fri 30 October. Bring a friend outside that week and the usual Kooshies program applies instead — a random one of the regular four.

Your details and your privacy

  • Who can fill this in. You must be your friend’s parent or guardian, or have that parent or guardian’s permission to give us their details. If you don’t have it, use the paper form at the dojo instead so the adult can complete it themselves.
  • Why we collect them. GKR Karate Region 15 collects these details to register your friend for a trial class, to run the Kooshies program, and — only if the marketing box is ticked — for the marketing described below.
  • Marketing is optional. Ticking the box is never a condition of your friend training, or of you receiving a Kooshie. Leave it unticked and everything else works exactly the same.
  • What ticking it allows. That GKR Karate Region 15 may contact the nominated adult by email, SMS, phone and post about classes, events, gradings, offers and news; and may disclose the details to its related businesses and selected marketing partners so those businesses may market similar products and services directly. We do not sell personal information.
  • Stopping the messages. Consent lasts until you withdraw it. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any SMS, or call Amanda on 0411 110 983. We’ll action it within five business days and pass the request to any partner the details were shared with.
  • Under-18s. Where the person registered is under 18, all marketing goes to the parent or guardian named on this form — never to the child.
  • Your rights. You can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by calling Amanda on 0411 110 983. Details are handled under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles; marketing messages are sent in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
