Friend Training Reward Program

Meet the Kooshies

Four tiny karate legends. One simple rule: bring a friend to train with you at any Region 15 dojo, and a Kooshie is yours. Which one you get is completely random — that’s the fun. Bring more friends, roll the dice again, collect the squad.

The Kooshies program ended Wednesday 30 September — the squad is all gone

1 Bring a friend Anyone who isn’t already a GKR member — school mates, cousins, neighbours, even mum or dad.
2 They fill in the form The quick form below before class, or the paper one at the dojo. Two minutes, done.
3 You earn a Kooshie Train together and a mystery Kooshie is yours — the reward goes to you, not your friend. It isn’t handed out on the day; your instructor will let you know when it’s ready to collect.
Collect all four

The GKR Squad

Every Kooshie is earned, never bought — the only way to get one is to bring a friend to train, and it’s the GKR student who earns it. No swaps at the counter, no picking favourites. The dojo decides who goes home with you.

Ziggy

01/04
Ziggy the Kooshie — a small karate figurine
Classic The High-Five

Hair like a lightning bolt and a heart to match. Ziggy hands out high-fives like they’re going out of fashion — and he saves the very biggest one for kids walking into the dojo for the first time.

Mochi

02/04
Mochi the Kooshie — a small karate figurine
Classic Tiny But Mighty

Squishy on the outside, pure iron on the inside. Mochi scrunches his eyes shut and tries harder than anyone in the room — he hasn’t peeked since his first class, and he hasn’t given up once.

The Squishy Squeeze R15 · 2026

Puddles

03/04
Puddles the Kooshie — a small karate figurine
Rare The Splashy One

A little duck who taught himself karate at the Erina pond, then paddled into class one day like he’d always belonged. Kicks with his left, waves with his right, and splashes absolutely everyone afterwards.

Kiwi

04/04
Kiwi the Kooshie — a small karate figurine
Ultra Rare The Shy Legend

The rarest and shyest Kooshie of all. Kiwi hides so well that most students have never seen one — and the little blue scarf? A present from his grandma, for being brave anyway.

Nobody’s ever seen it R15 · 2026

No guarantees, no take-backs — every Kooshie is drawn at random. Chasing a Kiwi? Better line up more friends.

Two minutes, tops

Register Your Friend

Fill this in together before class — it counts as your friend’s temporary registration, so they walk straight onto the mat. Works at every Region 15 dojo on the Coast.

The fine print

Earning your Kooshie

  • A different friend each time. Each new friend you bring earns you one Kooshie.
  • The Kooshie is yours, not your friend’s. Your friend trains free — the collectable is your reward for bringing them.
  • Not handed out on the day. Your instructor will let you know when yours is ready to collect.
  • Completely random. No guarantee which of the four you’ll receive, and no swaps at the counter.
  • Your friend can’t be an active GKR member. The program is for bringing someone new to the dojo.
  • Register before class. Use the form on this page, or the paper form at the dojo.
  • Available Coast-wide. Every Region 15 dojo takes part.
  • Ends Wednesday 30 September. Your friend needs to be registered and train with you by then. After that the program closes and the Kooshies are gone for good.

Your details and your privacy

  • Who can fill this in. You must be your friend’s parent or guardian, or have that parent or guardian’s permission to give us their details. If you don’t have it, use the paper form at the dojo instead so the adult can complete it themselves.
  • Why we collect them. GKR Karate Region 15 collects these details to register your friend for a trial class, to run the Kooshies program, and — only if the marketing box is ticked — for the marketing described below.
  • Marketing is optional. Ticking the box is never a condition of your friend training, or of you receiving a Kooshie. Leave it unticked and everything else works exactly the same.
  • What ticking it allows. That GKR Karate Region 15 may contact the nominated adult by email, SMS, phone and post about classes, events, gradings, offers and news; and may disclose the details to its related businesses and selected marketing partners so those businesses may market similar products and services directly. We do not sell personal information.
  • Stopping the messages. Consent lasts until you withdraw it. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any SMS, or call Amanda on 0411 110 983. We’ll action it within five business days and pass the request to any partner the details were shared with.
  • Under-18s. Where the person registered is under 18, all marketing goes to the parent or guardian named on this form — never to the child.
  • Your rights. You can ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by calling Amanda on 0411 110 983. Details are handled under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles; marketing messages are sent in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
